A Blind Spot That You Could See Wouldn't Be a Blind Spot. That's Not a Riddle — It's the Actual Design Problem Ori Solves For.
The phrase "blind spot" gets used loosely enough that its actual structural property is easy to lose — a real blind spot isn't just something a person hasn't gotten around to noticing yet. It's something that, by the specific mechanism producing it, can't be seen from the position the person is looking from, no matter how much attention or effort is applied to looking.
This is why "just pay closer attention" is a weak instruction against a genuine blind spot. Attention operates from the same vantage point that's already failing to see the thing — more attention applied from an insufficient position produces more confidence, not more visibility, which is a specific and dangerous failure mode of its own.
A blind spot, structurally, requires an outside vantage point to become visible at all — not more effort from the same position, but a genuinely different position, capable of holding a view the person's own perspective structurally cannot generate for itself. This is a design requirement, not a motivational one.
Solving for this is a different problem than solving for "more self-awareness" in the usual sense — it's specifically the problem of constructing a vantage point outside the person's own view, capable of reflecting back exactly the thing that vantage point alone was never going to see. That's the actual shape of the problem a blind spot poses, and it's the shape the rest of this series keeps returning to.
