General-purpose AI chat tools are optimized, reasonably, to produce the best possible answer to whatever question is asked — accurate, comprehensive, well-reasoned. This is a genuinely hard problem and these tools have gotten remarkably good at it. It also assumes the question itself is the right one to be asking, which is frequently not true when the subject is a person's own recurring behavior.
Someone asking "how do I stop being so anxious in relationships" has already made a diagnostic decision — that anxiety is the target — before the question is even typed. A tool optimized for the best answer to that exact question will answer it well, and may never surface that the actual pattern worth examining sits one layer beneath the anxiety, which the question as asked doesn't reach.
